Hodes & Landy statement on enactment of Advanced Home Health Aide legislation:
On behalf of their client, Argentum NY, Hodes & Landy, in collaboration with a broad coalition of supporters, proudly secured the Association’s top 2016 legislative priority. On November 28th, Governor Cuomo signed into law legislation which authorizes a new category of advanced home health aides (AHHAs) to perform higher level tasks, including the administration of medications under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse in Enhanced Assisted Living Residences (EALRs), and in home care and hospice settings. Argentum NY is the leading New York senior living association representing professionally managed providers and their residents across the State. The firm acknowledges the support and advocacy of Argentum NY provider members which was critical to this success.
“We are proud of our work on behalf of Argentum NY and applaud Governor Cuomo for enacting this groundbreaking legislation. Our senior living provider members strongly support this measure which will expand the health care services that can be provided to New Yorkers in their homes and in Enhanced Assisted Living Residences. We look forward to continuing to represent Argentum NY as it works with the Administration on the implementation of this new law.” Ginger Lynch Landy, Managing Partner, Hodes & Landy and Co-Director of Argentum NY.
