As of May 1, New York has 308,314 new positive COVID cases and an additional 289 related deaths. In today’s press briefing, Governor Cuomo made a highly anticipated announcement regarding the future of schools in New York. All NY K-12 schools, colleges, and universities will remain closed for the rest of the academic year. Students will continue to learn through distance learning through June. A decision regarding the possibility of summer school will be made at the end of May.
