As of March 23, New York State’s testing capacity has increased substantially, from a maximum of 1,000 per day 10 days ago to 16,000 per day yesterday. A total of 78,000 people State-wide have been tested with 20,780 testing positive. Of those, 13% have required hospitalization and 24% of those hospitalized require ICU treatment. There have been 374 deaths attributed to the coronavirus in New York State.
