As of April 30th, New York has a total of 304,372 positive COVID cases and 306 new related deaths since yesterday. In today’s press briefing, Governor Cuomo emphasized the State’s efforts in testing, tracing, and isolating. Last week, Cuomo announced a first-ever tracing program to be led by former NYC Mayor Bloomberg and in partnership with Johns Hopkins University and the NYS Department of Health. Mayor Bloomberg joined the Governor’s press briefing via video conference and gave some insight into the logistics and operations of the tracing program. Current NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio also participated via video conference in support of the NYC Transit cleaning and disinfection program.
