New York State COVID-19 Update:

As of April 29th, New York has 299,691 positive cases of COVID-19 and 330 new related deaths. Hospitalization, ICU admission, and intubations rates continue to be on an average 3-day decline. Today’s briefing began with a strong message to heed caution signs from other countries as NY looks towards re-opening parts of the state. Countries including Singapore, Japan, and Germany are seeing new spikes in COVID cases after relaxing social distancing protocols and re-opening the countries and some of those countries could be approaching a second wave. Governor Cuomo assures that NY is not working on conceptual ideas to re-open the state, but developing a detailed and fact-based strategy. He also announced today that he will issue an Executive Order allowing elective surgeries to resume in select areas – primarily upstate.
