As of April 27th, New York has 294,491 positive COVID cases and 337 new related deaths. Although new cases continue to increase, hospitalizations, intubations, and ICU admission rates are continuing to decline, albeit slowly. Social distancing guidelines are being credited for slowing the rate of infection. As the State’s COVID-related metrics show improvement, Governor Cuomo is shifting towards creating a safe and effective strategy to gradually re-open the State without jeopardizing public health.
