As of April 24, New York has 271,511 positive COVID cases and 422 new related deaths. Governor Cuomo says that while it is positive news that hospitalizations, intubations, and ICU rates continue to lower, it is concerning that hospitalizations are leveling off a rate of 1200-1300 a day, still too high. He again emphasized the importance of adhering to social distancing protocols in order to maintain progress and implement a safe reopening strategy.
