Nancy Hodes, Founding Partner
Ms. Hodes founded Hodes Associates in 1992 after a distinguished 20 year career in New York State government. As Executive Deputy Director of the Governor’s Office of Employee Relations under Mario Cuomo, she developed the State’s collective bargaining strategy, successfully negotiated contracts with public employee unions, and managed a budget of $6.5 million. Now, at Hodes & Landy, she continues to provide high-quality representation, strategy development and political analysis for clients while managing further expansion of the firm. She also serves as a Co-Director for a major statewide association. In the community, her leadership as board chair of the Albany Institute of History and Art (AIHA) helped to transform one of the oldest museums in the country to a new museum poised to serve the region well into the future. In addition to the board of AIHA, she served on Re-Capitalize Albany, an economic development strategy group established by former Albany Mayor Jerry Jennings, and the board of advisors for the American Cancer Society. She was a 2002 winner of the prestigious Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce Woman of Excellence Award. Ms. Hodes graduated from Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations, as well as the Program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
Ginger Lynch Landy,
Since 2000, Ms. Lynch Landy has overseen a variety of areas for Hodes & Landy, including client representation, strategy development, legislative and regulatory analysis and advocacy, political consultation, business development, and firm operations. Ms. Lynch Landy leads the firm’s health care licensure consulting practice and is the Co-Director of a major statewide association.
She was appointed by Governor Paterson as a member of the Task Force for Adult Care Facilities and Assisted Living Residences, and continues to serve on a number of Department of Health Work Groups related to senior living. Throughout her career, she has leveraged her strong advocacy skills, strategic thinking and professional public sector experience to work effectively with elected officials to advance policy and produce results.
On the staff of a senior State Senator, she focused on public policy research and analysis, legislation, and constituent relations. As Special Assistant to the Mayor of Mount Vernon, she managed relations with every constituency, from federal offices to members of the press. She also made her mark at the Maxwell School for Citizenship and Public Affairs of Syracuse University, where she managed training programs, federal grants, and international delegations.
A graduate of the State University of New York at Oneonta, she has completed graduate coursework at the Maxwell School and the City University of New York. She is actively involved in the Rotary Club of Delmar as a past president and Chair of the Youth Exchange Program. She is also a board member of the Colonial Acres Homeowners Association.
In her current role, Ms. O’Connor manages all research conducted at Hodes & Landy, engages in detailed analysis of legislation and regulations, monitors the media for client-related topics, and provides clients with updates on developments in their areas of interest. Ms. O’Connor also specializes in health care, long term care and association advocacy and management. She assists health care providers and developers with the state licensure certification and application approval process. A graduate of St. Bonaventure University, she has served as adjunct professor of English with the University at Albany, from which she earned her master’s degree.
Dir. of Operations and Gov’t Affairs Specialist
Ms. David is responsible for monitoring, tracking, and analysis of legislation and is involved in client representation, strategy development and political analysis. She also assists clients with state licensure applications and certification. She updates clients daily on issues of concern, drafts advocacy materials and represents the firm at legislative hearings and meetings. Ms. David is also responsible for the firm’s compliance to the Joint Commission on Public Ethics (JCOPE). In this role, she is well versed on New York’s lobbying and ethics policies and oversees all filing requirements.
Before coming to Hodes & Landy, she served as Executive Secretary for a former Deputy Majority Leader in the NYS Senate. Ms. David graduated with honors, from Sage College of Albany.
As Administrative Assistant, Ms. Bianchi assists with all aspects of the firm’s administrative management and is responsible for ensuring efficient daily office operations. She provides wide-ranging staff support which includes, but is not limited to scheduling, client research, political and election tracking, and other special projects. Ms. Bianchi is also heavily involved in the firm’s event and lobby day planning. Prior to joining Hodes & Landy, Ms. Bianchi worked as a Session Assistant in the NYS Senate and has an MPA from Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy.
