The Governor announced new paid family leave regulations that will go into effect in 2018.

The plan is among the most comprehensive in the country, providing parents with wage assistance and job protection. Highlights of the plan include a continuation of health insurance coverage for families as well as the benefit of being reinstated to their jobs upon return to work.

As listed in the plan, premiums for the paid leave will be covered by employee payroll deductions. Other aspects, such as the phase-in schedule, employee eligibility and benefits are listed in the regulations.
